Ugrarit
Ugrarit (Tell Shamra) is part of the Tentative list of Syria in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Ugrarit was an ancient port city and kingdom that flourished in the 2nd millennium BCE. The site, which was destructed in 1200 BCE, is largely still unexcavated. However, temples, the remains of a fortification, a vast royal palace and numerous residences have been found as well as tablets and documents in several languages.
